Main Street Baptist Church

Core Values

Main Street Baptist church is a Christ centered and driven church; we value and thrive on the diversity and uniqueness of all members. In our heart we believe in these 7 core values for which we unapologetically strive to live our lives and fulfill the task placed in front of us by our Lord, and Savior Jesus Christ.

1. One God

There is now and has always been only one God. God is manifested to us in three ways; Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

2. One Way

We believe that repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, God’s son, sent by his father as Holy and blameless to be crucified and die on the cross for our sins and rise again on the third day so that we may have eternal life.

3. One Word

The Bible is the holy word of God, inspired by God, written by man, and useful for the teaching and edification of believers, and reaching the lost.

4. One Communication

Prayer is the way by which we communicate with God, allowing Him to help guide us in our church and personal walk; helping us to determine His will for our direction.

5. One Message/Strategy

We believe we are to be God’s hands, feet, and body in this lost world to preach and reach the lost. As stated in Matthew 28 19-20: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Furthermore, from this we believe it is our duty to support missions financially, prayerfully, and personally both here in our community and abroad.

6. One Purpose

We believe our purpose as Christians is to seek, encourage, support, and instruct both believers and non-believers in the Christian life. We believe Christ demonstrated this by example and explained to us through his word how we should live. Furthermore; we strive to live as a unified body and group of believers.

7. Love

We believe the greatest commandment is to love God as he loved us, and the second is to love your neighbor as yourself. We strive to love one another as a body of believers, and to show that same love we have received to those we connect with each day.
